Happy New Year!! This is going to be the best year ever! Right? This is the year that it all finally comes together! This is the year that I will commit to working out more, eating more fruits and veggies, and completing the goals that I have on my vision board. Friends, I am right there with you! Sort of…
I mean, if I’m totally honest, I will also say that it took everything in me to just get this blog post together. My motivation for life was less than stellar. The end of 2016 kicked my ass! There were some pretty brutal nights of depression and anger. The negative thoughts took hold of my soul like a bad habit tends to do. I stopped writing. I stopped a lot of things. I was discouraged. From the political state of the country to the emotional fights with my ex-husband. I curled up into the fetal position and wondered what the hell is the point. My ex was taking delight in kicking me while I was down and I was tired. I was done folks. Done! My wings were broken and quite frankly, I was relieved. It meant that I had finally gotten to a point where I knew things were going to have to change. Really change. It was time for a reset button. A transformation not just of my heart but of my mind. It was time to start taking care of Vinessa. So I clawed my way back to the Queendom and took my rightful place at the thrown. By the eve of Dec 31st, I was standing tall and ready for the coming year.
First things first. My health. I can no longer use the excuse of not having enough time to make sure I’m eating healthy. It doesn’t help anyone and it certainly doesn't help the boys. Healthy mommy means happy mommy. I can’t run out of the house on an empty stomach chugging coffee in the car. I just can’t. So, this smoothie is my ultimate survival green smoothie. It’s how I will start my days even if I’m running out of the door, script in hand, cell phone cradled in ear, and sunglasses on! I will survive! In fact, I’ll do more than survive….I’ll thrive. Just watch me…
2 Frozen Bananas
1 Cup Frozen or Fresh Blueberries
1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Scoop Protein Powder
2 Cups Spinach
1/4 cup Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup Granola
1 Tablespoon Honey
Blend bananas, blueberries, Almond Butter, Almond Milk, Spinach, and Protein powder until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and top with yogurt, granola and honey. Enjoy. xo
